Building the electricity network of the future – explore the Herrfors Nät-Verkko’s development plan and share your feedback!

Explore the electricity network in your area and help shape its development! You can submit feedback on the development plan starting from May 1. The public consultation will remain open until May 31, 2026. Among all respondents, we will raffle five €50 gift cards for the S Group.

A new feature in the development plan is the inclusion of maps showing available capacity for both consumption and production connected to the 110 kV regional network – presented for the first time.

What is a network development plan?

The development plan outlines Herrfors Nät-Verkko’s planning principles and construction practices for a reliable and secure electricity network, as well as the network’s development needs and planned investments for the next ten-year period. The goal is to ensure that the electricity distribution network meets the requirements of a changing operating environment in the future.

The plan takes into account various megatrends and forecasts their impact on electricity transmission needs within our network area. Key megatrends include:

• changes in heating methods
• electrification of transport and industry
• changes in energy production
• increasing frequency of extreme weather events

Our development plan contains valuable insights into the future electricity network and the megatrends affecting our customers locally. We hope the public consultation will encourage our customers to explore the plan and take the opportunity to influence the development of the future electricity network.
