Environmental responsibility is a central part of Herrfors Nät-Verkko’s operations. We focus on the efficient use of resources and land areas.
Material recycling
In the construction and maintenance of the electricity grid, district heating systems and production facilities, we carefully consider our choice of materials. Metals, electronics, plastics, and other waste materials are accurately sorted and sent to recycling facilities.
We continuously work to reduce the amount of residual waste and follow all applicable regulations and procedures for waste management to ensure that materials are handled in a safe and environmentally responsible way. In doing so, we take responsibility for the resources we use and for what we leave behind.
Utilization of land
When Herrfors Nät-Verkko builds and maintains the electricity grid, it is done with consideration for both the environment and the local surroundings. We plan our utility corridors, when possible in cooperation with other parties, to minimize the impact on nature, landowners, and other interests in the area. We aim to restore affected areas to the extent it is possible.
Through dialogue, careful planning and responsible land use, we strive to ensure that our infrastructure harmonizes with the surrounding environment.
