Energy meter

The energy meter measures the electricity consumption in your home or business. We all have one as part of our electricity connection. With the meter, you can see how much electricity is used and when. It helps you understand your own energy use and make choices that save both money and the environment.

Why is the energy meter useful?

  • You see the consumption: The meter shows how much electricity you use during a day, week, or month.
  • Helps you save: When you know when you consume the most electricity, you can adjust your usage habits.
  • Accurate data: Our latest meters are highly accurate and transmit readings automatically.
  • An environmental act: When electricity consumption decreases, your carbon footprint also gets smaller.

Load control

Many of our customers use night-time load control via the meter, for example with a water heater.

Control schedule:

  • Activation: staggered between 22:00–23:00
  • Deactivation: 07:00

Implementation and responsibilities:

  • The meter includes a relay from which the electrician can take the control signal
  • The customer’s electrician is responsible for connecting the relay
  • We are responsible for the meter’s functionality and the time settings

If you are planning to use the load control, please contact an electrician.

P1 Port – Real-time Consumption Monitoring

Our new meters have a P1-port (HAN-port). This port enables, for example, load balancing of electric vehicle chargers and other home automation solutions that depend on the household’s electricity consumption/production.

The P1 port is not active by default. Activation must always be ordered via an electronic form.

What do you need?

For all meters:

  • A network agreement with us
  • A completed P1 activation form
  • Your own P1-compatible device

If you have a Kamstrup E-meter:

  • The port can be used after activation

If you have a Kamstrup Omnipower:

  • You need a separate HAN module from us (price €50.60)

If your meter is older:

The P1 port is not available until the meter is replaced

  • The replacement costs €187.24
  • You can also wait for the free meter replacement, which will be carried out according to our own schedule, no later than 2031.

Compatible devices

We cannot guarantee compatibility with all brands and models, but the following devices have been tested with Kamstrup’s Omnipower meters:

  • Homewizard Wi-Fi P1 Meter (requires external power supply for Omnipower meters)

The customer is responsible for the purchase, installation, and use of the device – we are responsible for activating the port.
