Energy storage and batteries – benefit from your own energy

What is energy storage, or a battery storage system?

Energy storage is a system that allows you to store energy for later use. It works like a large rechargeable battery in which you can store energy, for example from electricity produced by solar panels or from the electricity grid.

Why consider energy storage?

More efficient use of your own energy production

Use the electricity generated by solar panels during the day in the evening and at night.

Economic benefit

Reduce electricity consumption during peak grid times and optimise your electricity use cost-effectively.

Environmental friendliness

Maximise the use of renewable energy and reduce your carbon footprint.

What types of energy storage solutions exist?

Energy storage can be implemented in different ways to suit different usage needs:

Ready-made solutions

There are several ready-made battery packages on the market from various manufacturers, combining a battery, control system, and converters. These are well suited for households and small sites.

Hybrid storage

Combines a battery with, for example, a backup generator or another form of production. These can improve the flexibility and energy efficiency of the system.

Tailored solutions

For larger or special-requirement sites, energy storage systems can be custom-designed and built, optimised according to the customer’s energy usage profile.

There are several well-known equipment and system suppliers in the industry offering various solutions for consumer and business use. We do not recommend specific manufacturers, but a qualified electrical contractor or system supplier can help you choose a suitable option.

Safety and maintenance
Modern battery storage systems are safe and almost maintenance-free. However, periodic inspections should be carried out according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Installations must always be performed by a qualified electrical contractor.

Notification of connecting a production facility
When planning to connect a battery storage system or other electricity generation facility to the grid, remember to notify us well in advance of commissioning. You can conveniently submit the notification using the electronic forms on our website (link). This way, we can ensure that everything is correctly and safely connected.

Do not connect the production facility before the notification has been approved.
