Help with tree felling
We offer our customers assistance with yard tree felling when the felling may pose a risk to the electricity network or is otherwise difficult to carry out safely. Our service covers in particular the following situations:
- The tree is about to fall on a power line or is located very close to the electricity network
- The felling requires special caution, special equipment, or de-energizing of the electricity network

How the service works

You can contact us by phone or via the online form. We will assess the situation and provide further instructions. -
Assessment
If necessary, our expert will visit the site to assess the safety risks and the felling method. -
Cooperation with contractor
The actual tree felling is paid by the customer and carried out by the chosen lumberjack. We take care of the necessary safety measures for the electricity grid, such as possible de-energizing. -
Electricity grid is ensured
The tree is felled in a controlled manner and protection of the electricity grid is ensured throughout the entire process.
If a tree has already fallen on a power line
Do not under any circumstances touch the tree or the power line!
Proceed as follows:
- Leave the area immediately and move to a safe distance (Instructions tree on power line link)
- Report the matter to the emergency number 112 if there is danger to life or if the power line is sparking
Then contact our fault service, which will assess the situation and, if necessary, send a repair team to the site.

Please note!
- The service does not cover general tree felling or forest management – we only provide assistance in situations critical to the electricity grid.
- The work is free of charge when it concerns protecting the electricity grid or an action necessary for the network service.
Common Questions
If a tree is close to a power line, felling must be carried out with special caution. The customer or a hired logger performs the actual felling. Herrfors Nät-Verkko can, if necessary, secure the power lines during the work.
Contact Herrfors Nät-Verkkos customer service before felling. We will agree on a time when we can secure the power lines during the work.
Securing power lines during tree felling is free of charge within Herrfors Nät-Verkko’s distribution area, provided the request is made 3 working days before the work.
Contact us well in advance, at least three working days before the planned felling, so we can ensure resources and safe execution.
If a tree falls on a line, do not touch it under any circumstances. Leave the area immediately and contact Herrfors Nät-Verkko’s fault service. The customer is responsible for damages they themselves cause.
