Energy meter
The energy meter measures the electricity consumption in your home or business. We all have one as part of our electricity connection. With the meter, you can see how much electricity is used and when. It helps you understand your own energy use and make choices that save both money and the environment.

Why is the energy meter useful?
- You see the consumption: The meter shows how much electricity you use during a day, week, or month.
- Helps you save: When you know when you consume the most electricity, you can adjust your usage habits.
- Accurate data: Our latest meters are highly accurate and transmit readings automatically.
- An environmental act: When electricity consumption decreases, your carbon footprint also gets smaller.
Energy meters we use
We use several different meter models. Below you will find information about the most common models and direct links to their reading instructions:
Kamstrup 382 / 162 / 351
Features:
- Displays electricity consumption on a digital screen
- Supports remote reading – no manual reading required
- Does not have a P1 port
Common in older installations
Kamstrup Omnipower
Features:
- Supports P1 port, not powered
- Requires a HAN module from us (price €50.60)
Kamstrup E-meter
Features:
- Can be used for real-time consumption monitoring
- Built-in P1 port
Load control
Many of our customers use night-time load control via the meter, for example with a water heater.
Control schedule:
- Activation: staggered between 22:00–23:00
- Deactivation: 07:00
Implementation and responsibilities:
- The meter includes a relay from which the electrician can take the control signal
- The customer’s electrician is responsible for connecting the relay
- We are responsible for the meter’s functionality and the time settings
If you are planning to use the load control, please contact an electrician.

P1 Port – Real-time Consumption Monitoring
Our new meters have a P1-port (HAN-port). This port enables, for example, load balancing of electric vehicle chargers and other home automation solutions that depend on the household’s electricity consumption/production.
The P1 port is not active by default. Activation must always be ordered via an electronic form.
What do you need?
For all meters:
- A network agreement with us
- A completed P1 activation form
- Your own P1-compatible device
If you have a Kamstrup E-meter:
- The port can be used after activation
If you have a Kamstrup Omnipower:
- You need a separate HAN module from us (price €50.60)
If your meter is older:
The P1 port is not available until the meter is replaced
- The replacement costs €187.24
- You can also wait for the free meter replacement, which will be carried out according to our own schedule, no later than 2031.
Compatible devices
We cannot guarantee compatibility with all brands and models, but the following devices have been tested with Kamstrup’s Omnipower meters:
- Homewizard Wi-Fi P1 Meter (requires external power supply for Omnipower meters)
The customer is responsible for the purchase, installation, and use of the device – we are responsible for activating the port.

Easily monitor your consumption
Log in to our consumption service to easily track your electricity usage, even on an hourly basis. This helps you understand when you consume the most and allows you to make smarter decisions.
Frequently asked questions about meters and metering
The meter’s display shows, among other things, the total electricity consumption (1.8.0) in kilowatt-hours (kWh). For more detailed instructions regarding the registers, please refer to the meter-specific instructions provided further up on the page.
The data is sent at least once per day, more frequently on new meters.
Yes. In our consumption service, you can view your electricity usage on an hourly or even quarter-hour level.
There can be several reasons: colder weather, hidden energy-consuming devices (e.g. water heater), a faulty appliance, or changes in usage times.
The meter itself does not distinguish between individual devices.
The meters are highly accurate and calibrated according to industry standards.
In our customer portal, you can view your consumption data without any additional devices.
The data can be found in our consumption service as well as on your electricity bill.
If connected to the meter’s relay, it activates according to the night schedule between 22:00–23:00 and turns off at 07:00.
If it is connected to the meter’s relay, it will activate according to the night-time control schedule between 22:00 and 23:00 and switch off at 07:00.
The schedule is fixed and cannot be changed through the meter. Manual load control is possible separately through home automation.
Your electrical contractor can verify the relay function on the meter and perform the correct wiring.
The P1 port transmits real-time data (current, voltage, power, etc.) from the electricity meter. This enables real-time monitoring of consumption as well as home automation solutions that depend on electricity consumption.
You fill in the electronic activation form – then we take care of the activation.
Yes, once the port has been activated. The device connected to the port is purchased and installed by the customer.
A HAN module is required for Kamstrup Omnipower meters. The module can be obtained from us (€50.60).
You will receive a confirmation from us via SMS once we have activated the P1 port, and the port will start transmitting data immediately after activation.
Yes. It is designed for low voltage and is safe for home use.
Most reading devices require a Wi-Fi or other network connection in order to transmit data to the application..
The regulations of the energy authorities require that meters are periodically replaced in order to meet the latest market requirements. New requirements include, for example, a P1 port and alarms from the meter.
By 2031 at the latest, when all meters are scheduled to be replaced.
Yes, you can order the replacement yourself. The current cost is €187.24..
If the replacement is requested by the customer, the cost is €187.24.
We monitor the operation of the meters. If a fault is detected, we will contact you automatically.
No, not under normal conditions. Remote disconnection is only possible in special cases, such as for safety reasons or due to unpaid bills.
Yes, through the P1 port or our own consumption service.
They are available in our OmaHerrfors online service.
No. The meters automatically return to normal operation when power is restored.
The meter measures both consumption and electricity fed into the grid separately, and you can see them as separate values.
The meter measures both consumption and production separately.
Yes, when connected to a compatible control system. Many automation solutions support this.
Yes, but it requires work by both your electrical contractor and us.
